The Pink House, Plum Island (2023)
There’s a road that cuts through the marsh, and at the end of it, there used to be a house. Locals called it the Pink House—equal parts landmark, mystery, and accidental monument. Built in 1925 and left to hold its ground in the salt-blasted wind, it stood alone for nearly a century on Plum Island’s tidal plain, where sky, grass, and ocean fought over the horizon. Depending on the day, it looked like defiance or loneliness. Or maybe both.
This photo was taken in late light before the house was demolished by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 2025. It’s a final glimpse—a tribute to a structure that outlasted its purpose and became something else entirely. Loved.
Printed on archival, acid-free canvas and stretched over a solid wood frame, this piece is available in multiple sizes. It’s not just a photograph—it’s a memory made tangible.
